J1939 migration to TI C2000
Context & problem
As part of the development of a new generation of embedded controllers, an existing J1939 stack had to be integrated on a TI C2000 target. The challenge was to adapt the stack to the new hardware platform and establish CAN communication between the low-level layers and the application.
Challenge & solution
Understanding the existing system, integrating the J1939 stack, developing and adapting the CAN layer using TI HALs, then implementing transmit and receive mechanisms through to the application layer.
Outcome
An existing stack adapted and integrated on the new target, with a working communication chain linking the CAN layer, J1939 middleware and application.
